Girl Scouts of Utah welcomes gifts from the business and philanthropic communities, which have a crucial role to play in the futures of the girls we serve. Generous support from corporations, charitable foundations and local civic organizations ensures Girl Scouting remains affordable and accessible to all girls. We actively seek partnerships with large and small corporations, locally owned businesses, business associations and profess- ional organizations with links to the business community in order to further our work.   • Corporate Donations

    Corporations and businesses throughout our communities provide generous contributions.  Gifts may be designated to underwrite Girl Scouting in a specific area or to underwrite a council program, such as STEM, Healthy Media, Forever Green, career exploration, community volunteerism or Discover Girl Scouts Outreach programs.   • Corporate Employer Match & Volunteerism Contributions

    Corporate programs that provide contributions to 501(c)(3) organizations based on the donations or volunteerism of its employees can be used to support Girl Scouts. Contributions will be credited to the Annual Fund goal of the employee's Girl Scout Service Unit or the employee may select to designate those funds to a specific program within the council, (e.g.: camp financial aid, Gold Award scholarships, destinations, etc.).
  • Corporate Troop/Service Unit Contributions

    Corporate donations are typically support the council as a whole. A Service Unit may apply to small, local businesses for funding for their Annual Fund goal or in some instances, a troop or volunteer may request support for a Gold/Silver/Bronze Award project.  In such cases, the applicant must request pre-approval, per the Troop Money Earning guidelines. If a corporation has a limited amount of funds they will give annually to Girl Scouting, single troops or single girls will not be allowed or approved to become the sole beneficiaries of those funds. Rather, they will be spread through additional troops or used to fund programs benefiting many girls.
  • Foundation Grants

    Philanthropic and or charitable foundations may make contributions to Girl Scouts of Uah at the council level.  Due to IRS regulations and other legal statutes, grants may only be applied for and accepted by an authorized employee of Girl Scouts of Utah development team.   
  • Gifts In Kind

    Corporations may choose to give gifts-in-kind of materials or products, which may be accepted when the gift can be used immediately by Girl Scouts of Utah. Gifts-in-kind for which donors are eligible for a charitable gift deduction will be acknowledged by an itemized receipt however, the donor will be responsible for reporting gifts at their fair value, in accordance with current IRS regulations.
